Legacy In Play

Experience Arnold Palmer’s home course for yourself

Nestled in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains in Western Pennsylvania lies one of golf’s true treasures — Latrobe Country Club.

Imagine strolling down the same groomed fairways where Arnold Palmer learned to play the game of golf or standing over a 20-foot putt on a two-tiered green that Deacon Palmer, Arnold’s father, helped design and create.  Playing 18 holes at Latrobe Country Club is much more than a game.  It’s something special that Club members refer to as the “Arnold Palmer Experience” and there’s nothing else quite like it in the world of golf.

Open only to Club members and guests staying on-site in one of our guest houses, the 6,517-yard, par-72 course is a beautiful yet demanding test of golf nestled along a winding path through 110 acres of mature trees and manicured fairways.

A True Test

The course layout sports 18 holes of mostly bent grass tees, fairways and greens. From the championship tees, the course has a course rating of 72.5 with a slope of 139. The white tees measure 6,110 yards and have a rating of 70.5 with a slope of 135. The Club features a large fleet of E-Z-Go golf carts, cart paths, a practice putting green, driving range as well as a fully stocked Pro Shop.

“Remembering one’s life, someone said, is to live twice. If that’s true, I realize I’ve been fortunate enough to live many lifetimes since I was a small boy following his dad around the fairways of Latrobe Country Club, that once-upon-a-time place where this tale really begins.”
